Our Work

A-LiNK encompasses:

  • Collaboration with patients and families through A-LiNK Connections

  • Implementing quality improvement strategies at A-LiNK sites

  • Support from ICN processes and leadership

  • Dedicated experts in quality improvement

  • Retrospective Studies to determine historical outcomes

  • Prospective Study to optimize patient care

We prioritize improvement efforts at A-LiNK sites. We maintain Master Patient Lists to keep track of patients. We utilize a Pre-Visit Planning Tool to tailor clinic visits to patients’ needs. We perform PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycles to optimize care.

The family and patient community is integral in all aspects of our work. A-LiNK Connections is a dynamic community and shapes A-LiNK priorities. Any child with AILD or their family can get involved.

We collaborate in AIH and PSC Working Groups to focus on disease-specific needs. We are developing foundational work on Model Care Guidelines.  This provides a practical framework for evidence-based and patient-centered care, the first of its kind for pediatric AIH, ASC & PSC.

Dedicated ImproveCareNow support from leadership, Quality Improvement Specialists, Analysts, and Project Managers has been foundational in A-LiNK improvement efforts and growth.

Together, we are advancing knowledge in pediatric AILD through a multicenter retrospective cohort study. With over 200 patients included from 12 A-LiNK centers, this serves as the basis for implementing strategies to improve outcomes in AILD.

A-LiNK is utilizing a multicenter prospective registry to monitor and improve key outcomes. With over 100+ patients with AILD enrolled, we review monthly reports on how patients at A-LiNK centers are doing.
